Mimi does NYC

Saundra & Michelle at The Rink at Rockerfeller Center

NYC is a fashion mecca - from New York Fashion Week to the chic street styles of all five boroughs.  New York is the place to get inspired!  Michelle, the mimi in mimi & red, made her way out to the fashion capital last week with her good friend Saundra and what they found is nothing less than fabulous.

This trip provided a lot of inspiration for Michelle.  As the buyer, the intricate details of the holiday dresses found at Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman will definitely be seen incorporated into our mimi & red shops, but minus the huge price tag and plus Michelle's personal twist!

Barneys & Bergdorf weren't the only stops Michelle made during her trek to NYC. One of her favorite jewelry lines is based out of New York - Catbird.  The gorgeous stacking rings and first knuckle rings at Catbird are only a few of the amazing pieces carried in their flagship store on Bedford Avenue.

Let's be honest good food is the most important part of a vacation. Michelle and Saundra ate their way through NYC.  Steaks are definitely a must when in new york and one of the best steak spots is Smith & Wollensky.  Not only do they serve up a good slab of meat, but they also don't want you to forget your furry friend back home. The folks at Smith & Wollensky will pack up your bone to take home to your dog! If you follow us on instagram you know how much Michelle loves her dog, Buddy. The W hotel also kept the bone in the freezer until Mimi checked out.  Talk about great customer service!

Michelle & Saundra's favorite dessert while in NYC? Rosario's Pizza in the Lower East Side (LES for you locals).  Yep, pizza for dessert.  Sounds like a perfect ending to a meal to me.  Before the pizza was Michelle's favorite meal while in NYC - Korean-style hanger steak with kimchi fried rice and topped with an egg from The Dutch.  Put an egg on top of anything and it is sure to be delicious!

Overall, Michelle had a blast in NYC!  She shopped 'til she dropped and ate 'til she popped!
